Dean is the head of the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery unit at the Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia and the clinical lead of the Royal Melbourne Hospital breast reconstruction service.
Dean studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and completed his plastic surgery training in 2009 and before undertaking fellowships in microsurgery and aesthetic surgery in the UK and Argentina. He has performed over 1200 microsurgical breast reconstructions since his return to Melbourne in 2011. Dean has sub-speciality interests in microsurgical breast reconstruction, aesthetic breast surgery and body contouring following massive weight loss.
In his spare time, Dean enjoys cycling, fishing and travelling.
