Dietmar Ulrich is Chief of the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital of the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He is also Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program and Head of the Plastic Surgery Research & Innovation Lab at Radboud University, where his research focuses on “Technical Innovations & Reconstructive Surgery,” “Extracorporeal Perfusion,” and “Wound Healing & Scar Formation.”

His clinical focus includes breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, and the reconstruction of complex defects of the extremities and genital area. In 2019, he and his team performed the first successful double hand transplantation in The Netherlands. He has authored over 200 scientific publications and more than 30 book chapters on plastic surgery in international books.
