Marc Mureau has worked as a consultant plastic surgeon at the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Erasmus MC since July 2005, specializing in oncological reconstructive microsurgery, including breast, head & neck, facial nerve, and complex facial reconstructions.
He was appointed Professor of Oncological Reconstructive Surgery in April 2020. Since December 2016, he has been Deputy Head of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and has led the Division of Oncological Reconstructive Surgery since 2009.
He received his PhD degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1995.
His research focuses on the optimization of outcomes following reconstructive (micro)surgery, studying PROs, big data from (inter)national clinical registries, and technical innovation strategies. He has (co-)authored 187 peer reviewed articles, 10 book chapters, and 82 abstracts and miscellaneous publications.
