Dr. Velda Ling Yu Chow

Dr. Velda Chow is Consultant of the Department of Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Hong Kong. She is currently Chief of Division of Head and Neck Surgery, and Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is also the Director of Burn Unit in Queen Mary Hospital.

Her clinical and research interests include pharyngo-esophageal tumours, management of complex pharyngo-esophageal defects, nasopharyngeal tumours and applications of robotic surgery in the head and neck region. She has served on the editorial board of several local and international peer reviewed medical journals.
She is recipient of the GB Ong Travelling Grant (2014) and Carlos A. Pellegrini Travelling Fellowship (2023).

She is currently a member of the Head and Neck Cancer International Group Guidelines and Protocols Committee, Hong Kong Nasopharyngeal Cancer Study Group, as well as Past President of the Hong Kong Head and Neck Society. She is also Vice Chairlady of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong Plastic Surgery Board, and Council Member of the Hong Kong Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.
