Dr. Chih-Hung Lin was the chairman of trauma and emergency surgery of plastic and reconstructive surgery of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 2000 till 2006. He is the Professor of Chang Gung University, and took the role of Chairman of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, between 2008 and 2016. He was the Taiwan Delegate of International Federation of Hand Surgery and Asian Pacific Federation for Surgery of the Hand, between 2008 and 2018. He was the superintendent in Chiayi Chang Gung Memorial Hospital of 1369 beds in Chiayi, in the middle south of Taiwan between 2017 and 2020. Currently, he is the deputy superintendent of Linko Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.

He learns from the Master Prof. Fu-Chan Wei, and mentors Prof. Yu-Ray Chen and Samuel Noordhoff. He completed his orthoplastic fellowship training from Prof. Scott L. Levin at Duke Medical Center. Dr. Lin strives to provide optimal treatment and strategic individual approach for his patients. He believes that functional outcome is the goal for all the patients, and aesthetic result will improve the patients’ quality of life. As an accomplished clinician, his expertise focuses on the various hand surgery, upper and lower extremity reconstruction, endoscopically-assisted free tissue harvesting, head and neck reconstruction, neurofibromatosis reconstruction, and corneal neurotization. Recently, he incorporates CAD/CAM 3D printing virtual surgery with iCT in fibular flap for maxilla and mandibular defect reconstruction.

He has published about 280 peer-reviewed manuscripts including 84 first or corresponding authors, and 20 book chapters until 2024.
